Please also look at the information given below about the "Sponsor a Child Program" and "VSEI Scholarship Program".
Sponsor-a-Child Program
Under this scheme, a sponsor helps pay part of a child’s education-related expenses and upkeep.
A sponsor makes a commitment for at least a year at a time; however, most sponsors have continued supporting a child for several years, typically until the child has completed school. For many of the sponsors, the objective is to help educate a child through high school, and perhaps also through College, to enable the child to grow up as a self-reliant person.
Upon receipt of a sponsor’s contribution, VSEI assigns a needy child to the sponsor, and conveys the information which enable the sponsor and child to communicate directly.
A sponsor typically donates $ 125 to $ 200 per year towards the partial support of the child. For more information contact your local VSEI Volunteer or send an email to

VSEI Scholarship Program
In the VSEI Scholarship Scheme, needy and deserving children are given small scholarship awards. Even though small, they have been found to be very helpful by the recepients.
A donor may choose to establish a scholarship in the name of a person they wish to honor or commemorate.
The scheme is implemented by using the return from the Scholarship Fund. Currently, every $100 contribution to the Scholarship Fund will provide a recurring annual contribution of about Rs.150 to Rs. 200 towards an annual scholarship award for a needy child.
We invite well wishers to consider establishing one or more scholarship awards. The suggested amount is $200 or more for each (recurring) scholarship award.
